To the Editor.
Sir, — It appears to me that we do not realise the seriousness of our iiositi-j'i ;n regard to water supply, and the very great danger of a disastrous conflagration taking place, should a fire occur while the present dry weather continues. This is a matter in which the whole of the business portion of the community is partieulary interested. I suggest that the time has arrived when the City Council shcud absoluely prohibit the use of the hose, and should take special steps to detect and punish waste. I am, etc/, CAUTION.
