NELSON CRIBBAGE ASSOCIATION.
PRESENTATION OF THE CHALLENGE SHIELD. Tho Nelson Cribbago Association brought the season to a c'.ose last even ing with a social gathering of players at the Druids' Hall. Tn the absence of the President (Mr J K Hounsell). Captain Stiles was voted to the chair. In presenting the shield to the Maitai Rowlins Club, the Chairman stated that about ISO players had taken part in the tournament. The formation of ar Association had fir. t been suggested by the Anglers' Club, and the proposal had befn warmly tiken up by a nnmhpr of other Clubs and Societies. The Chairman thanked Mr F. Harford for his gift of a. shield. Mr C. Lamb, captain of the Maitai Bowling Club's team, received (he shield on behalf of the Club amidst cfTteer?, accompanied by musical honours. He culled for cheers for the other teams that had been enraged in the tournament. Cheers were given for Mr Harford, for Mios9 who hid assisted in the evening's entertainment, and for Mr Shone, accompanist. A musical programme wa.i prcsor cd*. those taking part being MesTa filov.r.
