18 HOUSES CONDEMNED.
DUNEDIN, Monday.
Eighteen houses in or off Walker-street were this morning condemned by the Health Department. The quarters arc for the most, part occupied by Syrians, and the Health Officer inspector, Mr Gladstone, who accompanied Dr Ogston, says that the premises wo.-c surprisingly cleanly kept considering the state of the buildings.
