A CURIOUS POSITIOH UNPER THE ACT. The Mayor-elect will be installed on the second Wednesday in May, but the new Councillors take office from the day of their election. A rather curious situation might have arisen in connection with, the Mayoralty. Had Mr Harley been elected he would not have presided over the first meeting of the new Council.
