EVASION OF THE EARLY CLOSING ACT. [United Puess Association.] FEILDING, Wednesday. . At the Magistrate's Court to-day a Chinaman was fined £1 and costs for keeping his shop open after hours. To evade the Act he opened a shop adjoining his grocery and fruit store at 9 o'clock pn Saturday night, and sold fruvt only. The Magistrate felt that it was a deliberate attempt to evade the Act, and imposed the fine.
