WAKEFIELD.
The annual meeting of householders for the election of a school committee and to receive reports and balance-
sheet was held in ihe schoolroom, Wakefield, last evening. There was a good attendance. Major Franklyn, being voted to the chair, congratulated the people of Wakeschool, ab which useful classes in dressmaking, cookery, woodwork, and agricultural science were being conducted by capable teachers, scholars from tho -imouilding schools attending by train. Dr Pearless, Chairman of the School Committee, read the annual report; Inspectors' reports on Wakefield and Pigeon Valley Schools ; and the balancesheet, all of which were unanimously adopted as read. A unanimous vote of thanks to the retiring Committee, Dr Pearless being specially mentioned, was carried amidst applause. The following are the seven Committeemen for the ensuing year :Eev O. R.
