THE VANCOUVER LINE.
[United Pbess Association.]
DUNEDIN, Monday, l'r Findlay, Attoruey-Qenerai; 'men. tioned this evening that the San Francisco mail boats being under repair, the mail service had been abandoned, and mails would be carried via Suez. No negotiations for the renewal of the San Francisco service were going on at present, but the Company was prepared to negotiate when its vessels .were equipped and ready for sea. There was considerable prospect that through tho medium of Sir Wilfrid Laurier and Sir Joseph Ward a regular service would be a rranged via Vancouver. Local arrangements both in Australia and here were being deferred until it was seen what could be done in London at the meeting of Premiers.
