NEGLECT OF AN INFANT.
CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. At the Magistrate's Court this morning, Edith M. Maltzard was charged with the manslaughter of her child, Edith Mabel Maltzard, by having caused its death by failing to give it sufficient care, food, and attention. The charge arose out of the verdict of the jury at the inquest held on Thursday. The accused was remanded to Friday next. The charges of drunkenness and breach of a prohibition order preferred against her were held over for a week.
