The g-uest.i sat at an "E" shape table, signifying Empire, no -speeches were made it being a non-party assembly. Those present included the Archbishop of Gaptei;bury, Lords Alverstoiie,' Lans'downeJ Jersey, Onslow, Tennyson, Sarrington,' and Mr Reeves, High Commissioner for OTTAWA, Monday. (Received April 22, 11.24 a.m.) The "Toronto Gibe" declares that the purpose of the Imperial conference is not executive action but the interchange of ideas. The Franco-Canadian press is against the creation of a**;*) Imperial CoupciJ which -wquld change the existing te\i,, lions between the colonies and the Empire.
