CONDEMNATION OF THE NEW BREAK.
[United Pesss Association. — CoprlilUHT.]
BRISBANE, Monday. Stevenson, the billiardist, has arrived by the Aorangi en route for New Zealand.o Speaking at the Mayral reception he said there had been great doings in billiards since he left England. With regard to the "cradle cannon" he contended for the sake of billiards that it ehould either be abolished or allowed say only three times in a game. It was only one stroke and a man could stand in one position and his hand keep going liko a pistol. It was quite possible to start on Monday night, and have an unfinished break on Saturday night. During his exhibitions in Australia and elsewhere Stevenson will not attempt the stroke because it is simply a monotonous repetition, while amateur billiardists like to see all-round billiardiards.
