ACTIVITY OF MOUNT RUAPEHU
AUCKLAND, Thursday. | The correspondent of the "New Zca land Herald," telegraphing from Oha kune, states the appearance of Ruapeht mountain remains unchanged, and apart from slight earth tremors and unj derground rumbling about 11.30 last I night, there were no further indications of an eruption. The mountain was J completely hidden from view to-day, i the greater Dart of tho time being enveloped with clouds of steam. The deposit of volcanic matter is not so i large as was at first supposed.
