FOOTBALL.
NBLSOy KUGBT UNION. A meeting rf the Manigement Corrmitteo of the Nekon Rugby Onion was held last evening at Stallard's Rooms, there being present :— Dr Andrew (in tha chair), Messrs G. Shriinpton, J< Richards, G. Faitey, J. Hurley, Skeet, Murray. H. Hall, and F. Kitchiug. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confiimed. It was resolved to write to the d' olden Bay Union, in forming thtin that the Nelson Union will send a team over on May 24th. Correspondence was received from various schools in the district in reference to the establishment of a public school competition. Se7eral favourable replies were received. It was de.-ickd to institute a Public School Compel itidn. open to all schools in the district, Dt Andrew kindly Otlared a trophy, to be called the President's Cup, to be won twice iri succession, or thr;e times at intervals. Messrs Shrimpton, Kitching, and Skeet were appointed a Fist'j.-e Committee. It was resolved that is I le Senior Cup competition two rounds be played, finishing with a eemi-final and a final. Mr G. Fairey was appointed a delegate to confer with a delegate from the Cricket Asaociatioa in refereiice to the use of Trafalgar Park. Mr Cannington was appointed assistant i mekeeper. A hearty vote of thanks wd,s accorded Mr J. Hurley for past services as timekeeper. Dr Andrew was nominated as a Vice-President of the New Zealand Rugby Union. The Pre.-i---dent and Messrs Sbrimpton and Hal »ere appointed a Postponement Committee. A vote of thanks to the Cbairman termina'ed the. meeting. A football match will be played at Tra r a'gar Park tc'-morrow, at 2 p.m., between tfce "A" and "3" toams of ihe Rival Clnb, Which will be represented as follows:— A team : Bassett, Hurke, Keacett, Parker, Cro r B, Walker, Cullinane, Hunter, Earnett, Cooke, ijhone, Fisher, Webley, Field, WhitHell. Bird, Hayes, Fedderson. and Dixon. B Team : McConcbie, Cole ; Minn, Ilargre:iveß, Howo, Hockey, Sownan, Buauchauip, Calder, Maslin, Day, ie Castro. Thomas, Watson, Veysey, .■>icoa-.ii, Mayo.
