Further details of the Great Barrier fatality are to the effect that the camp of the Austrians, who were engaged in Riim-digging, was pitched on the bank of the creek on an island between Blind Bay and Whakapara. The creek rose very rapidly as the result of the downpour on Wednesday and Thursday. The fresh undermined the camp which, without any warning, was engnlphed in the swollen torrent.
