MONTHLY' MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Nelson Land Board was held yesterday. Presents-Messrs F. W. Flanagan (Commissioner of Crown Lands) in the chair, Lynch, Wratt, Walker, and\ Sinclair. Minutes were read and confirmed. Applications for cash lands were dealt with as follows :-H. P. Washbourne, section 69, block i, Waitapu, 65 acres, under section 114 Land Act 1892 was declined on account of the contiguity of the land to' tho iron dcpoits at Parapara. (A letter was read from the Under-Secretary for Lands covering a request from tho Collingwood County Council that no further sale or selection of Crown lands in the locality of the Parapara iron deposits be permitted at present. It was stated by the Commissioner that the Board had already determined on a course which practically conceded the request of the Council); J. M. Powell, section 6 .block i, Waitakere ,150 acres.—Adjourned till the report of the Warden is received. Applications for leases in perpetuity were dealt with as follows : — 0. E. anc R. L. Price, 500 acres, block xii and xiii, Wangapeka, price 6s per acre.'rRefused, as it is intended to dispose of this and in conjunction with the Wangapeka run, recently purchased by" the Government. H. Betts, section 9, block viii, Inangahua, 3 acres under | section 114 Land Act 1892, refused^ it being the intention of the Board to set I apart the area as a public reserve. E. I Wesbey, sections 4 and 7, block xii, Mawheraiti, 140a 3r 24p, held by applicant under occupation license. — Resolved that as the sections are not continuous, applicant be offered a pastoral license over one section only rent 9d per acre. J. Colvin, section 117, block vii, Kawatiri .received 19th December, I 1906, applied for by A. L. Hamey un- 1 der lease in perpetuity 15th December, I 1906, adjourned till the report of the Warden is received on Mrs Hamey's application. E. Griffiths, section 16, block vi, Ngakawau, 9 acres,, adjourn- I ed for the Warden to report. J. I Brown, sections 1 and 3, block i, Tutaki, resolved that Mr V, T. Macna- 1 mara, who holds these sections under occupation license, be given three months' notice to terminate his license I on the grounds that the land is requir- I ed for legitimate settlement, and that I Mr Brown's application J>e granted, and possession on Ist May, 1907. M. H. Reedy, part section 472, Palmerstonstreet, Westport ; J. Munro, sections 4 and 5 Palmerston-stireet, Westport. — Adjourned till Board meets at Westport in March. W, E. McLean, reserves for school site, 18 acres, block - viii, Matiri. — Adjourned for advertisement. W. A.
