THE INSURANCES. - . [United Pbess Association.] HASTINGS, Thursday. Following are 'the insurances on the premises destroyed by the fire this morning : — D. Scannell, building including Patterson's and Mossman's office, £600, in the London and Liverpool and Globe | office ; effects, £100 in the N.Z. office ; Paterson's and Mcasman's office, contents, £50 in the South British; Lequesne and Cowan, building, £50, contents £200 in the Standard ; Edwards' printing plant, £225 in the Australian Alliance ; G. James, painters' requisites, £100 in the Sun; J. T. Beake,. store at the rear of the building, £50, contents £80, (office not named) ; building occupied by Booth and MacDonald, James, and Edmonds' and owned by Mrs A. H. Russell, £60 in the Snn.

It is believed that there was no insurance on Booth and MacDonald's stock of £600. The block destroyed is in the brick area, and all new buildings will consequently be of brick.
