The liveliest and most 'interesting! ! meeting addressed by Mr McNab, I the Minister for JLamds, 'during his present tour of this district, was that which assembled 'at Papakura 1 (about 20 milos south' of Auck- j land, in tho Manukau 'electorate) on Saturday evening. 'A vote of thanks to Mr McNab', | and one of confidence in the Gov- ' eminent was moved by Mr E. S. Cole. Mr Flanagan '(Secretary of tho ;' Drury branch of the "Fanners' ' Union), moved, ,and Mr E. "Morgan (President of tho same body) seconded the ' amendment : •"That this meeting, -whilst thankinz Mr JR. McNab for "his able addross, is of opinion that no JLaincl Bill "will bo acceptable that does not contain provision whereby future settlers on Crown Lands can i obtain the option of the freehold." j On a show of hands being taken, the lamonrimont wns r-n-'riecl by '' a large majority, 'amidst loud applause and cheers, and 'cries of , "The freehold !"' \ Mr McNab 'thanked them for their vote of thanks, nrel acknowledged tho decision they .had arrived at. The meeting broke up with cheers for JSfr T,ang and counter cht-ers for Mr Bollard. Mr McNab leaves for the South on Tueeday.
