"Morgan (President of tho same body) seconded the ' amendment : •"That this meeting, -whilst thankinz Mr JR. McNab for "his able addross, is of opinion that no JLaincl Bill "will bo acceptable that does not contain provision whereby future settlers on Crown Lands can i obtain the option of the freehold." j On a show of hands being taken, the lamonrimont wns r-n-'riecl by '' a large majority, 'amidst loud applause and cheers, and 'cries of , "The freehold !"' \ Mr McNab 'thanked them for their vote of thanks, nrel acknowledged tho decision they .had arrived at.
