AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

AUCKLAND, Friday. The annual Show under the auspices of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day proved . a great success, y A .feature of the , Show was the great number of ponies exhibited, in all about 100 were entered, including seven entires, and it is safe ' to say that never before has there been such a pretty show of pet ponies in Auckland. Horses are fully represented, although, owing to- the Show being ( 1 later this year, a less of stallions were exhibited. -As befits a pastoral and dairying distf-ict, the exhioits of cattle are very numerous; in fact, never before has there, been so many shown in Auckland. The exhibition of dairy produce is, wit^ ono exception, the largest that has ever been held throughout the whole colony. The exception was the Palmerston North Winter Show last year, where there was a slight increase over Hfife present exhibition. The quality, throughout has been well maintained,;, the flavour of first-class butter in the dairymen's class, being particularly good. The same remark also applies to the second prize exhibit in this class, the judges having the greatest difficulty in separating first and sgcond prize winners. One noticeable feature is that there is very little low scoring. The following, aro the championship awards :— Draught howea, entire, John Suchliffe's Pride of Chantole; do., mare, R. Nicholl's Miss Blythe. Cattle—Shorthorn bull, William Taylor's Frederick Edward; Polled Angus bull, H. A. Smaffield. Sheep-Lincoln - ram £..
