BREAK-UP OF AN 'INSURANCE COMBINE.
PERTH, Thursday. Tlio fire 'insurance combine, which has existed for a. num[bcr of years, has broken up. At a 'meeting of the H2companies out of 36 belonging to, the 'Association, a motion was carried that ow-* ing to breeches of 'the digi'eemettt of the Association by the Royal Company, and all efforts ' to bring that company into line having failed, the agreement' of 'the Association lxj suspended. The manager of tha ■ Royal accus.-s the remaining members of 'the Association of having been guilty of 'thu very practice*! j they condemn in tho Royal, ' and says his company always observed the tariff right up 'to the time of the rupture ; it was other companies that were going "behind tha tariff. The result is to bo a fierce war of rates.
