THE WAIMEA RIFLES CAMP.
The Waimea Rifles, under Captain E. Arnold, went into camp on Monday evening. The downpour prevented any drill; but Tuesday proving fine, work was commenced in earnest. This evening the men were put through a lot of standing drill, firing exercises, and marching by Sergt.-Major Redmond. The Sergt.-Major evidently wishes to leave his mark on the corps, and insits on all movements being done promptly and correctly. The men willingly respond, and both have the hearty support of the captain and officers. There is a good attendance, which will improve daily .
