The British Universities' mission at Masai was warned by two; German Benedictine fathers, and flea to the coast at half an hour's notice, walkuiig 120' miles in three days, thoiigb accompanied by three > ladies The msssionaries escaped the attack, the - brunt of the natives, violence falling upon the Benedictine misai'ons, .whose bishop and five companions were killed.
