FATALITIES AND ACCIDENTS.
ASHBURTON, Aug. 23. Stanley Williams, aged 15, died tm:ler chloroform while undergoing nn operation for appendicitis at the Hospital this afternoon. Two doqfcor*** were in attendance DUNEDIN, Aug. 23. The Police are investigating the circumstances connected with tho •death of H. Sing Tong, near Ta : pufiui. There was a bruise on deceased's forehead, and several cuts on his face. His underdo thine was almost burned ofl" his body, evidently caused by the explosion . of a lamp found on his bed. There , wns a pool of Wood about the bed ; and the floor and a sdielf . near the bed were strewn with fragments of bottles. GISBORNE, Aug. 23. James Allen, aged 59. who was found lying on the Makaraka road, having Sallen from his horse, is lying in the^Hospital in a very critical condition. 'He is suffering from concussion of the brain.
