THE ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. AUCKLAND. Aug.' 23. lho la'te accountant of the Auckland Racing Club, P. A. Dawson was arrested in Fiji on a warrant charging him with stealing £500 tho monies of tlie club. The accused appeared before tho Stipendiary Magistrate to-day. The Crown-So-licitor mentioned that the amount involved in the allogod defalcations was azUW, and he applied for a weak s remand, whioh was granted. Bail was allowed in two surstios of .LoOO and accused in* a similar amount.
