THE RESIGNATION OF LORD CURZON. LONDON, Aug. 23. The Bengal Chamber of Commerce has adopted a resolution lamenting Lord Curzon's resignation cf the Viceroyalty and gratefully thanking him lor hia signal services to the country, and applauding his ability and courage in defending constitutional principles. Lofd Curzon has been the recipient of numberless sympathetic telegram?*. Press comments are heated in India, and the Home Government is fiercely assailed, some of the British Indian newspapers. describing militarism as triumphant, while others expect a full debate on the subject in Parliament. A numtoer of native newspapers are ju?*iilant over Lord Curzon's retirement, hoping thereby that the partition of Bengal will be frustrated.
