AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
Tbe monthly meeting of the Committee of the Nelson Agricultural and Paston'l Association was held at Richmond on Saturday ovening, Mr G. E. jPhisnall (President) occupying the chair. It waß decided that the Marlborough Association ba.infor,me<l that this Assoc'ation favors their suggestion of cooperating with a view to procuring Judges for the Nelson and Marlborough I Shows ; that it is a matter the Agricul ■■-'• tural Conference should deal with ; and tbat the names of tbe Judges procured ■for this year's Nelson Show bo supplied tbt'liQ-Tffartborojtgb Association. The opinion was eupressed that there would be no saving in the matter, for the reason tbat iftbe same Judges acted for the two Shofcs, they "would have to be away fnjta, their homes fully a fortnight. ResolvM that a Horse Parade, under the auspices of the be held on Wednesday afternoon, September 28th Messrß J. Gaukrodger, W. Coleman, . Jomeß Hunt, and -Mu. D, Harkness were elected as Stewards for the Horse . ''parade. " It was resolved that Messrs A. Came, S. Woods, VV, Fitzgerald. W. Cooksey, E. T. Savage, J. D. Salisbury* J, Warnock, and J. F. Hardey be elected members of the Association. Jt was decided that Mr John Tinline and the Mayor of Nelson ( Mr Jesse Piper) be eleoted as Patrons of the Association. The Secretary reported that special i prizes to the vahttTof about £ LIO had , been promised for the forthcoming show. and any other intending contributors should fnform him as early as possible, as the schedule would soon be printed. . Tho President lioped the Bottlers would '• come forward liberally with exhibits, so as to ensure a good show. He desired a full attendance of the Committee at the next meeting, when the Stewards for the Show would be chosen.
