THE TROTTING CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, Yesterday. The Trotting Conference passed a new rule calling upon the Association to hold special meetings to consider appeals within seven days of the receipt of evidence. An amendment to rule 20, making it compulsory that a deposit fee of £1 be forfeited when appeals are dismissed, was agreed'to. Role 29 was altered to provide for two pony flat races being included on the programme of Trotting' Clubs. It was decided that the New Trotting Association be empowered to enter into reciprocal relations with the : Australian Commonwealth and America respecting registration of disqualifications and licenses. The proposed new rule giving the Association power to appoint stipendiary stewards was withdrawn. A suggestion to have the dates of meetings And of affiliated clubs decided at the annual Conference was lost. It was decided that the registration be increased from ' 2s 6d to 58.
