NELSON HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
The annual general meeeting of the Nelson Hockey Association was held last aight, Mr. Or. Hogg presiding. The following delegates were present — Nelson Club : Messrs W. James, and H, McCabe ; Federal Club, Messrs G. Hogg md F. Brown -, Maitai Chib, Messrs Batchelor and McGoldrick. The report of the last season showed "hat hockey had taken a firm hold, and ;hat the Association had now three clubs iffiliated md that the Nelson Association vas affiliated to the New Zealad Associa- ] ion. Three mtaches were played against ; >utside teams — two against Christchurch md one against Wellington, all of which ihowed hockey in Nelson to be in an ad- ' ranced statge. A' challenge from the Wednesday afternoon representatives to play the Saturday afternoon representatives was accepted, play to commence at 3 p.m. Is was resolved that the Secretary write "_ to the Principal of tlhe Boys* College with a view to getting out a hockey team on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Resolved that the Ladies' Club be invited to join the Association at a fee of 10s 6d. The players are greatly on the increase and there is talk of a junior competition taking place. The present season promiEts to be a •very successful one, three clubs having entered for the senior competition, dates of matches' to be arranged. The first match of the season takes place on Saturday Heart between the Federal and Nelson Clubs. '-^-^^——•^ fi
