CHRISTCHURCH, This Day I The Arbitration Court to-day gave itsaward in ;€he engine-drl vera' land fire men 'B dispute. the Tramway Company provision was made for an extra aate of wages on certain holidays. Freezing companies not exempted from the award were ordered to pay as the minimum rate of wages to drivers of stationary engines holding| first-class competency certificates 10s a day ; those with first-class service certificates 9s ,- and those with second-class service certificates 8s ; preference to be given to unionists. Tbft award takes effect from May 16th. Other matters werfdeeided by mutual agreement.
