The debtor, who received £100 a year salary, said that for six years before 1900 hie income improperly obtained was four or five thousand, and, during the past two years, ten thousand. His ordinary living expenses were £500 a year, and the whole of the difference had gone in betting and gambling on the Stock Exchange. He bought South African gold mine stock to the extent of £180,000, and sold it for £178,000. The examination was adjourned.
