FURTHER DEVELOPMENTS. MELBOURNE. Yesterday. There are hopes of settlement of the railway difficulty. Pnblic opinion favours the dispute "being referred to the Supreme Ckrart. The Secretary of the Drivers and Eiremens Society says that the men are quietly awaiting developments. (Received 9.66 aan.) ■*'" MELBOURNE, This Day. SeveralExecutiveOfflcersof the Railway Carriage Builders' Society; have resigned their positions. The Society, however has informed the Railway authorities •that the Executive had no power to order a severance of the Society from the Trades Hall.
