NELSON EDUCATION BOARD.

The monthly meeting of tbe Nelson , Education Beard was commenced this morning, and will be resumed to-morrow. There were present *—• Messrs Talbot (ch»irßif_iV F Franklyn, Baillie, Phillips, ' Bent, aod Maginnity. Tbe minutes of tbe previous meeting were read and confirmed. , Mr Baillie aqbrnilted a report on hie recent neit to Burnett's Face, Deomstoo, Oranity, and Waiman garoa echoola. It was t-asolfed on bis motion that Burnett's Face Commi tee he asked to '] iarite tenners for certain work to be carried ont at ithat school. - Eeeolved that the sanitary arrangements at Denfiiston be gi von effect to and . tenders invited. ' Besolved tbat the Waimongaroa Cora- - mittee be authorised to obtain a cowl for • the jtinior room chimney. Besolved that the sum Of £5 be granted the Granitjf- Creek- School Committee ] for levelling the playground. ] It was^ decided tbat Mr Baillie be thanked for. hjs trouble in these matters. . Eesolred that the Wostp^rt Committee be informed that owing to no funds being arail*ble, it cannot make a g atuity to the Westport Fire Brigade. The Capo Fou' win 1 Committee applied for an increase in the giant for incidental pu<po!;ftß - also for furniture. It was decided that the chairs be sup. plied on receipt of a requisition from the Inspector. The Board, however, was unable to increase the grants.
