(Received 3, 9.5 a.m.) LONDON, Yesterday. The Government has accepted the amendment in the Education Bill by Col. Kenyon-Slaney, Conservafci»e member for Newport, giving managers of schools control of religious instruction. The High Church Commoners protested that the amendment was an ineult to the clergy. Clause 8 of the Bill has been pasesd. Lord George Hamilton, Sacretary of State for India, in bis reference to the treatment of Indians under asiatic exclusion legislation, specially men 'ion-ad the Transvaal hs well as the Orange Colony. Sii John Gorst, late Vice-President of th eCouncil of Education and a veteran member of the House, has been granted a political pension of £UCO a year.
