THREE BOARDING HOUSES DESTROYED.

The flame-*, which were greatly a^si. ted < y a high wind, had a terrific hold, and soon spread to M re Walmsley 's four tetn-room ed house aboyo and Mra Maxwell's boardinghouse below, oach of three stor. ys. Tha last was nutted and the others were coni-plo'-ly destroyed. Mrs Walmsley was iut-ured for ±600, and estimates the loss afc £ICO. The additional furniture was uninsured, Mrs Pears6's furniture was insured in the London and Lancashire for £360. and she estimates her 1 .ss at .£SOO abore. Mrs Maxwell waa uninsured, and estimates her loss at £250 Mr Taylor, one of her boarders, was insured in the Viateria Offioe for £125. Mrs Maxwell sold out last week to a new tenant, who was to hare taken possession this morning.
