The Penguin leaves Wellington tbis afternoon, twill arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail at 8.30 a.m. for liiton and Wellington. Owing to the Bth Octcber being a close holiday at the Wellington wharves, the Map utika will pass through Nelson on Sunday next, instead of on Monday. Gertie anived f om Taranaki this morning. The summer running by iUo Un on Company's boats -will commence on Oct. 17th. The Penguin will ui*ke three trips a week between Nels <n, Picton, and Wellington, leaving here on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Wainni will leave Wellington on Friday, and Nels< n for the West Coast on Saturday. Tie Mapoarika will leave here on Sunday f. r Picton and Wellington. Th« Haupiri will ran a ferry ser ice between Wellington and Picton, making a trip daily each way. The Colonial mails from Auckland, 29th A.ngust, arrived at London on the 28th instant, and those from Melbourne, 27th august, arrived at London on the 26th instant.
