PUBLIC FUNERAL AND MEMORIAL.
& hastily convened meeting of citizens was held in the Council Chamber this forenoon to arrange for a public funeral and memorial to the late Mr Crisp There was a representative attendance, and the Mayor presided. It was arranged for the funeral to take place to-morrow afternoon. The procession will start from the residence at 2.30. Some of the elder children of the city will walk in procession, preceding the hearse, and there will follow mourning coaches with the Mayor and Corporation, the Trustees of the Wesleyan Church, the Trustees of the Temperance Hall property, representatives of various Friendly Societies an 4 benefit societies, and the general public, The following Committee, with power to add to their number, w&tQ elected to devise a memorial to the JJate Mr Crisp :- Mr H. Baigent (Mayor), Mr F. Trask (ex-Mayor), Key. J. S. Smalley Messrs Fathers (Rechabites), Robt. Wat son (Good Templars), W. T. Bond, T. Field. W. Fleming, W. Haddow, and R Snodgrass.
