TO-DAY'S SITTING.

The Board met again this morning, there being present the Chairman (Mr Talbot), Messsrs Best, Phillips, and Maginnity.

A letter was read from Miss Black, teacher at Kanzau, asking whether the Board would make a grant towards the purchase of a sewing machine for the purpose of instructing the elder girls in dressmaking. -It was resolved to call Miss Black's attention to the fact that before she can commence teaching in the" direction indicated she must be recognised by the Department as a teacher under the technical instruction regulations. Miss Stoddart, head teacher at the Toi 1 01 Valley School, wrote in respoct to bur proposod class for brush-drawing.— It was resolved to ask Miss Stoddart to forward her credentials and those of her assistants, Miss Bond and Miss Kitching, to the Board, for transmission to the Department : also to inform Miss Stoddart that teachers must bo recognised by the Department before the fees can be obtained.
