THE OVERLAND MAILS.
INTERRUPTIONS OF THE SERVICE
The Post Office 'authorities inform us that the contractor for the overland mail was unable to get through from Motueka to Richmond to-day, even on horseback. A largo portion of the Apploby flat is under water, the Waiinea river having overflowed its "bank. There is also a big slip on the road at the Moutere. The mails from this end will be sent on by the s.s. Lily to-morrow morning. The Westport coach was unable to leave Westport this morning, owing to floods, but no advices have been received of any other interruptions.
