BREACHES IN THE ROCKS ROAD WALL.
The heavy gale last night played further havoc with the Waiinea County Council's portion of the Rocks Road wall, two breaches, each of about 30 feeb iu length, being made. One of the breaks adjoins the broach made by last February's gale, and which was subsequently repaired. The other gup is about five chains nearer the Stoke end of the wall. In one case the chains and coping have been carried away, but in the other they remain intact. Mr Hooker, the City Council's foreman, visited the road early this morning, and reported the damage. This afternoon he is taking steps to secure the roads against any extension of the damage by placing sand bags in tbe gaps.
