The following information regarding members of the New Zealand Contingents who are well known in Nelson has been supplied by the Defence Office :— Trooper B. P. Avery, Ist Contingent, transferred to Imperial Military Railways ; Trooper A. Tumbull, 2nd Contingent, provisionally discharged to go to England,- Trooper A. J. M. Bonar, 3rd Contingent, transferred to Kitchener's Body Guard ; Private J. Street, Gth Contingent, promoted to Lance-corporal •; Private D. J. S. Burnes, 6th Contingent, to be Lance-Corporal.
