LATER INFORMATION.
TROOPS EXPECTED TO-MORROW
AFTERNOON
The following telegram was received < his afternoon from Colonel Penton, fhe Commandant of the Forcee, by Captain Wolfe, the officer commanidng the Nelson district :—
".Probable arrangements are that Dalhousie will arrive Nelson to-morrow afternoon. Indian troops will march through town on Wednesday morning, say starting at 11 a m. from wharf, march not to exceed 2 -J miles. The troopship leaves again that afternoon. Hope you have arranged Tor 54 horses, including good one for five officers.
" Rations will be required as follows : — Firewood, 4001bs • flour, lOOlbs ; rice, BO lbs; butter, 401 bs ; potatoes, SOlbs ; onions, 2-41 bs ; vegetables, SOlbs ; lentel, 24 lbs sugar, 40lbs ; tea, 2lbs ; salt, lOlbs; pepper, red pepper, tumeric, gailic, tamarind, and coriander seed, 21bs each; aerated waters, 40 dozen, including a small proportion of soda wate . This is a daily Bupply in addition to four sheep."
