A new window sash hanger has been invented by Mr R W. Gibbs, of Nelson, and is being patented by him. The hanger consists of a bar of brass or iron, wi Eh a number of Blots cast in the face and let in flush to the sides of the window frames. A steel spring and hub are fastened to the sides of the sash, and as the sash is raised or lowered the hub rises and falls into any slot desired and remains there. The advantage claimed for this lifter and hanger is that it can be fixed in a few minutes at little expense to any window frame, and that it cannot pet out of order, thus doing away with the ordinary weights, cords and pulleys.

The case of W. Scale, Receiver of Gold Revenue at Collingwood, v. C. Y. Fell (attorney for the CoUingwood Goldfields Co, Limited) was decided at Collingwood by Mr Warden Heaps, last week.
