SALVATION ARMY.

The local corps of the Salvation Army has concluded the 17th year of its labours in Nelson, and yesterday special meetings in connection with the anniversary were conducted in the Barracks hy Adjutant Ward and Capt. McKay. The meetings were well attended and were veiy successful. In lhe course of the addresses reference was made to the officers who had first commenced the work of the Army in Nelson and are still engaged in the cause. Allusion was also made to departed members and to others who had gone out as officerß and were now holding important positions iv the Army elsewhere. The anniversary tea will be held on Wednesday evening next at 630, and at 8 o'clock tho same evening a public meeting will be held.
