CONTINUED DESTRUCTION.
MELBOURNE, February 10. The Ararat races were brought to an abrupt conclusion. A bush fire, fanned by a gale, swept across the course so rapidly that some of the horses \n ere soorohed before tbey could be got away. The wind unroofed the grand-stand. Miles of country in the vicinity have been burned. ADELAIDE, Februarp 9. restrictive bush fires are raging at Mount Pleasant. Mnch grass and hund eds of sheep have been destroyed. The damage is estimated at £10,000.
