PROMISED RELEASE OF AN OFFICER.
CAPETOWN, Feb. 13. - President Steyu, of the Own e Free State has promised to release LieutenantColonel H. A. Eager, of the second battalion of tho Royal IrUh Rifles, who was wonnded at the battle of S'orniberg and Jwsbten in the enemy's hands ever scicce. Colonel Eager, whoae leg has to be amputated, will be released as soon as he is able to travel.
