THE GOVERNMENT THREATENED WITH DEFEAT. SYDNEY, This Day. In the Legislative Assembly last nigh', Mr Keid said ho was prepared to limit the leu tax to 18 months rather than lose it al ogether. Just before a late ad jonrnment tbe general impression in tbe lobbies was that tbe Government would be defeated on the tea and rice duties.
