MASONIC RECEPTION.
Wor. Bro. Melhuish, W.M., of Maeonio Lodge Victory, No, 40, N.Z.C., summoned an emergency meeting of the Lodge on Saturday afternoon in order to receive Most Wor. Bro. Beddon, Grand Master of the constitution. Though the summons w«s short and the hour inconvcnlont, there was a moderately large gathering of the brethren at the Oddfellows' Hall, among them pastmasters and members of sister lodges. The M.W.G.M., accompanied by Grand Lodge officers, P.D.G M. Dr Boor, and Bro De Castro, was received with the highest honours. Bro Naylor, organis , assisted by Bro Maginnity, conducted the musio of the ceremony. The Grand Master delivered an appropriate address, recounted some of his Masonic experiences while in England, and spoke encouragingly of tbe fntnre of Freemasonry in New Zealand and of the growing prosperity of the New Zealand constitution. After the Lodge had been closed the brethren adjourned to light refreshment, at which the Grand Master was cordially welcomed. The usual Masonic toasts were duly honoured, and a pleasant hour was spent.
