SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

J_tl_.J-i\__. A J_V_/-1U« NELSON TOWN SCHOOLS. The annual meeting of householders lo eleot a Committee for the Nelson Town Sohools was held in the Provincial Hall last evening. There was a good attendance, and on the motion of the Rev J. P. Kempthome (Chairman of the outgoing Committee), the Mayor, Mr F. Traßk, was voted to the ohair. Mr Hobden (Secretary) read the report and balance sheet. . The report and balance aheet were adopted on the motion of Dr Maokie, seconded by Mr Salter, and carried unanimously without discussion. In putting- the motion the Chairman -aaid great credit was due tc the School . Committee for the report' and for the i. satisfactory manner ih which they had . conducted the-schools during the past 12 ■months. (Applause). Their services and time were given gratuitously, and the publio, espeoially the parents, ahould feel ~:yery grateful to them. (Applause). He hoped that all present would show their j- appreciation of the work done by the ' . Committee by-re electing them, for they - had a heavy pnblio duty to perform, and much pnblio critcism to withstand. (Applause). He personally congratulated the Committee on their year's work, and ... hoped that if re-elected they would have even less trouble in carrying out their . -duties than they had last year. (Applanae). P. Kempthome was re-eleoted Chairman for the ensuing year. Mr Hobden was re-eleoted Secretory.
