NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Council of tbe City of Nelson, hold on the 15th day of April, 1898, the following resolution was adopted: — " That in pursuance of Section 325 of ' The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886.' Sections 37 to ii, both inclusive, of ' The- Rating Act, 1894,' and Section 4, Sub-section 6, of ' The Bating Act Amendment Aot, 1895,' the following Water Rates in respect of the ordinary supply be made and levied for tbe period commencing on the lit day of April, 1898, and ending on the 3Ut day of March, 1899, payable in two equal instalments on tbo IStb day of May, 1898,' and tho lst day of October, 1898. 1, Upon all lauds and buildings to which water is supplied, whose rateable valuo on the Valuation Roll does not exceed £15, a rate of 10 Shillings por Annum ; Exceeds ■£15, a rate of 3J per cent on such value. 2.
