The Borongh Council haa decided to purchase the Waihirero watershed lor the purpose of Obtaining a water supply for (Jisborneand will ask tho ratepayers to eanctiod a loan of £20,000 at 5 per cent for carrying out the nectssary works. Of tbat amount it is proposed to use £7000 in repaying the loan from tho Harbour Board wbich falls due in 191)1, and that portion of the proposed loan will not be raiaed until it is required for that purpose,
