MINING AT WEST WANGANUI.
Mining affairs at West Wanganui art assuming very important proportions just now. A third Company (the Pioneer) has now become interested in ,the Block, and will commence operations immediately, Mr Mennell has returned, and has engaged a dozen additional men for the Australasian Gold Trust, who will be set to work at once tunneling through Baldy mountain. Mr Mennell has also been appointed Manager of the Pioneer Company. Mr Low, of the Taitapu Gold Estates, will return by the steamer shortly. The Taitapu Estates shares have gone up 175 per cent.
