■ Many will remember tho circumstance of the marriage of a colonial girl, Miss Alice Samuels, to Sir. Edmund Lechmere, who subsequently inherited tho title of his father, the lato Sir Edmund Lechmere, Bart, and M. P. for Worcester. Lady Lechmere has not been permitted to long e_ joy her new dignity. Her mother who is" a resident in Christchuroh says the Wellington " Post," has just received news oilier death, which occured on tho 4th inst., iis the result of an attack of rheumatic fever. Lady Lechmere, wc are informed, has a large circle of friends in this colony, who will exceedingly regret her untimely end. She leaves a son niue years of age, who is heir tothe baronetcy.
